Londonderry, NH faculty member diagnosed with viral meningitis

Posted: Updated:

The Londonderry School District sent a letter to parents on Monday informing them a faculty member had been diagnosed with viral meningitis.

The faculty member works at Londonderry High School, according to the letter. They were not identified.

Public Health officials said there was no public health issue at this time.

The letter also says parents should be on alert for meningitis symptoms in their children. The symptoms include high fever, severe headache and stiff neck. Other symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, rash, confusion and sleepiness.

This case of meningitis was not immediately tied to a nationwide outbreak of fungal meningitis that has infected nearly 200 people.
