Manchester police conduct shopping sting operation
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — So far, Manchester, N.H., police say one person has been accused of taking the bait in their sting operation targeting theft at shopping outlets.
Officers left a purse with cash and a shopping bag containing an electronic item unattended in a cart in the parking lot of the TJ Maxx Plaza. Shortly thereafter, they observed a man park near the cart. They saw him remove the shopping bag and purse and put them in his trunk Monday.
Police later stopped and arrested 23-year-old Alexander Ramasci on a charge of theft.
Police said they had conducted similar operations in two other locations in the shopping area. They saw several people at each location notice the bag and purse and take steps to return the items.
