One man is dead after he fell more than one hundred feet inside of an empty water tower in Lower Providence Wednesday.

Another man, suspended in a harness above, was eventually rescued by emergency crews.

The two men were part of there man crew from "Corrosion Control Corporation," a company out of New Jersey.

FOX 29's Claudia Gomez reports firefighters made their way up the water tower and perched above, where they found the worker who survived suspended 40-60 feet above the floor.

Chief Bryan McFarland of the Lower Providence Fire Company tells FOX 29 a firefighter entered the tank suspended from the top, where he was lowered down to the surviving victim.

The man was transferred to a primary rescue rope and was lowered to the base of the tank safely.

The rescue operation took crews more than three hours.

"Rarely in this business do we see successful ends to some rescues that we do, and it's always a good thing," Captain McFarland said.
