Brookline police chief says town will address aggressive turkeys

Posted: Updated:

BROOKLINE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A public meeting was Thursday night in Brookline due to concerns over turkeys.

Residents voiced their concerns about aggressive birds, saying a large number of turkeys flocked to the area this year. They're chasing people and even scratched one woman.

Officials discussed their plans to have the birds removed unharmed, but some residents grew frustrated with how they are handling the situation.

Brookline's police chief said the town is going to hire a trapper to round up the three turkeys that have been the biggest disturbance.

MassWildlife is urging residents to stay away from the birds and clean up food scraps near compost piles.
