Investigators Release Name Of Victim In Water Tank Accident

A 31-year-old man died while performing maintenance work in a Montgomery County water tower. A 31-year-old man died while performing maintenance work in a Montgomery County water tower.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA -

Officials in Montgomery County have released the name of the worker who died Wednesday after falling into a water tower in Lower Providence.

According to investigators, 31-year-old Jason Schmidt died while he was performing maintenance on the tower, located on Featherbed Lane.

Schmidt worked for Corrosion Control Corporation out of New Jersey.

Another worker, 38-year-old Miguel Martinez was rescued and taken to the hospital.

Federal officials are now investigating the accident.
