Flipping-Off 'Kiss Cam' Results In $25k Fine

PHILADELPHIA -

A member of the Boston Celtics will be paying a significant league fine for his actions when a Wells Fargo Center camera turned his way during Friday night's game.

Celtics forward-center Chris Wilcox has been fined $25,000 for making an obscene gesture directed toward fans during a game, the NBA said in a statement.

The fine was announced Sunday by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations.

The gesture came during the first half of a home-and-home series for the 76ers and Boston Celtics.

The league's news release says only that "Wilcox's actions occurred during a timeout with 8:47 remaining in the 4th period of the Celtics 95-94 loss to the 76ers on Friday, Dec. 7."

That's when, according to several reports, Wilcox was placed on camera with teammate Jared Sullinger during the regular "kiss cam" feature in the arena and displayed his middle finger.

A total of 17,921 fans were in attendance for the game, at which the Sixers pulled out a 95-94 overtime win before heading to Boston and dropping Saturday's matchup 92-79.
