Rockland boy collecting gifts for children impacted by Sandy
ROCKLAND (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A Rockland boy is helping make the holiday season a bit brighter for the youngest victims of Hurricane Sandy.
James kept seeing all the devastation from Sandy on television and the Internet and told his mother he wanted to help. The 7-year-old's mother posted a photo of James holding a sign asking for others to help him donate goods on the Internet. The picture soon went viral.
The 7-year-old has collected tons of toys, books, clothes, and even cards. He's also trying to get $1,000 in donations. As of Tuesday night he was over 400.
If you'd like to help before James leaves for Staten Island on Dec. 21, e-mail his mother Carolann at email@example.com.
