Jury in Boston slayings case reports impasse

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (AP) — A judge has told jurors in the trial of a man charged with killing four people to continue deliberating after they reported reaching an impasse in the case.

The jury in the trial of 35-year-old Dwayne Moore told Judge Jeffrey Locke shortly before noon Monday that they were at an impasse, with one juror refusing to participate in deliberations.

Locke was told the juror was no longer cooperating with other jurors. The judge told jurors to return to deliberations and continue to try to reach a unanimous verdict.

Moore is accused of fatally shooting three adults and a 2-year-old boy in 2010 during a drug-related robbery. A fifth victim survived the shooting, but was paralyzed and is now in a wheelchair.

Moore's first trial ended with a hung jury. A second suspect was acquitted.
