Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police are searching for a 28-year-old Mattapan man who is wanted for custodial kidnapping, child endangerment, aggravated assault and battery, and threats to kill.

A victim told police on Sunday that Juan Garcia, the victim's ex-boyfriend and father of her child, refused to surrender their six-month-old son. She said that she dropped the child off at Garcia's home so that the child could spend time with his father, but when she returned to retrieve her son, the suspect refused to surrender the child.

Additionally, the victim told police that Garcia physically assaulted her with punches and kicks and stated, "I will kill you before I give the child back."

The victim had swelling and redness around her face. She was transported to the hospital.

Police responded to the suspect's home, but were unable to locate Garcia and the child at that time.

The child has since been reunited with his mother, but the search for Garcia continues.

Garcia is described as 5'4" tall and approximately 150 pounds with a medium build. He is Caucasian Hispanic with brown eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect's whereabouts is asked to contact police at 617-343-4712.
