4 Shot In About An Hour On Philly's Streets

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia police are investigating a series of shootings that happened all within about an hour of each other.

The first happened just before midnight in Kensington when a man was shot in the leg. This was in the area of Allegheny Avenue and G Street. He's listed in stable condition at Temple University Hospital.

Around the same time, a 24-year-old woman was shot in the back while on her way home from work. This happened around midnight on the 700 block of 13th Street in South Philadelphia. She's in stable condition.

And around 1 a.m., there was a double shooting in Juniata. Police say two 24-year-old men were shot during a robbery on the 2000 block of Castor Avenue.

One was shot in the leg, while the other died at the hospital.

The shootings come not even a day after President Barack Obama named Philadelphia's own Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey to a team aimed to prevent gun violence.

In this video report, FOX 29's Steve Keeley has more details on a two-day Philadelphia anti-crime summit that Ramsey addressed on Wednesday and which continues today.
