Police: Female employee stole over $50k from New Baltimore gas station

NEW BALTIMORE, Mich. (WJBK) -- Police say it took a woman only three months to steal more than $50,000 from the Macomb County gas station where she worked.
Police discovered the cash hidden away inside a closet at 21-year-old Taylor Klein's apartment. Police say she stole the cash while working at the Sunoco station on Jefferson and 23 Mile Road.

Police say the station owner became suspicious after noticing missing cash and alerted authorities. Klein was taken in for questioning on Monday. Police are putting together video surveillance from the days she worked and plan to hand it over to Macomb Co. prosecutors.
Marijuana was also found inside the apartment. Klein now faces embezzlement and possession charges.
