MILFORD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- When Kim Kerswell accidentally backed into a car in a Milford parking lot earlier in December, she didn't know what to do. Money was tight and she could barely afford Christmas for her kids, let alone paying for car repairs.
But little did Kim know, when she backed into that car she also happened to bump into her Christmas angel, Sherene Borr.
While exchanging insurance information, a very apologetic Kim shared with Sherene that she's a single mom, barely making ends meet and was not going to be able to give her kids a Christmas this year.
"Kimberly had shared her story with me and I was able to relate it to growing up in a single parent household, knowing how hard it was," said Borr. "I just wanted to be able to give her and her children a Christmas."
With the help of more than 30 families and businesses, Borr adopted the Kerswell family for Christmas, getting them everything on their wishlist.
On Friday, Borr delivered it all, from toys and gas cards to necessities for their home.
"I'm very blessed it was her. You know, being all frantic over Christmas and my bills, not knowing what I'm going to do next," said Kim. "Trying to explain to my daughter that we're not going to spend the holidays having a Christmas this year but I'd do my best."
"I know people in the community and across the United States are paying it forward," said Borr. "That's what life is all about."
