BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Two Dorchester men were arraigned Wednesday for allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint in the area of Carruth Street and Minot Street around 12:20 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
John Cesar, 20, and Antiowane Davis, 19, were arraigned on charges of armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm. Davis was additionally arraigned on a breaking and entering charge.
A judge ordered $5,000 bail for Cesar and $10,000 for Davis.
According to prosecutors, the two men approached a 20-year-old Dorchester man and questioned the victim about where he was from and what he was doing in the area. The men told the victim they were from Dorchester Avenue.
One of the men, later identified as Davis, reportedly lifted his jacket to reveal a black handgun in his waistband. The other man, later identified as Cesar, allegedly said, "Give me your stuff." The suspects then took the victim's wallet and iPhone and ran in the direction of Adams Street.
The victim provided police with a detailed physical description of the suspects and their clothing, and as a result, police were able to locate the suspects.
The men reportedly attempted to flee, but were tracked down by police.
A loaded handgun with one chambered round was found under a nearby porch where Davis was apprehended. Police contacted the resident of that building who stated that the gun did not belong to anyone at that address.
Cesar and Davis will return to court on Jan. 9.
