DORSET, Vt. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A 55-year-old Massachusetts man was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol after he parked his vehicle in the front yard of the home where the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous was born.

Donald Blood, III, of Marlboro, is expected to appear in Bennington Superior Court on Jan. 14 to face a drunken driving charge, reports the North Adams Transcript.

Police responded to the Wilson House, birthplace of AA co-founder Bill Wilson, around 7:25 p.m. on Christmas Eve because Blood had reportedly mistaken the front yard of the home for a parking lot.

Vermont State Police told the newspaper Blood was a guest at the house and no damage was done during the incident.

According to the website for the Wilson House, the house is a nonprofit foundation and the building itself, a historic former hotel, hosts alcohol treatment group meetings.
