NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A New York bound passenger was bound and duct-taped after allegedly becoming drunk and abusive during the flight.

It happened on an Icelandair flight on Thursday afternoon.

The unnamed man reportedly spit on passengers and the flight crew and was screaming that "the plane was going to crash."

It happened when the flight, from Reykjavik, had about two hours left before landing at JFK Airport.

According to an Icelandic news site, the passenger drank a bottle of duty free alcohol, and then went crazy.  He reportedly tried to choke a woman sitting next to him.

Passengers helped hold down the man while the crew used plastic ties and tape to restrain him to a seat.

The Port Authority spokesman tells MyFoxNY.com that the passenger was transported to a Queens hospital after the flight landed, but the man will not face any charges.

The man's name was not released but the Port Authority says he was carrying a passport from Iceland.

In a separate incident on Friday, a woman was pulled off a plane that landed in Newark after she was accused of being drunk and abusive.

Also on Friday, a pilot was pulled off of a LaGuardia bound plane when he failed a sobriety test.
