AVON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A Brockton man who had his license revoked for life is being held on $50,000 cash bail after failing to show up for court on his eighth operating under the influence charge.

Police say 65-year-old William Doten was arrested by Avon Police at about 10 p.m. Thursday after his passenger called 911. Doten was pulled over on West Main Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a revoked driver's license, and possession of an open container of alcohol.

The 65-year-old has faced OUI charges eight times and was found not guilty on two of those charges. Doten, who previously had his license revoked for life, has also been charged several times with operating with a revoked driver's license.

Doten was arrested again on Friday after failing to show up to his arraignment that morning. He is being held on $50,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment on Monday.
