Smyrna High School Teacher Charged With Having Sexual Relationship With Student

Donovan J. Garvin, 37
Smyrna Police have arrested a 37-year old teacher and charged him with multiple counts of sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust 1st degree and one count of sexual solicitation of a child under the age of 18 to engage in prohibited act.
Donovan J. Garvin is a Smyrna High School teacher. He is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15 year-old female student.
He was taken into custody at his home and was formally charged. He was presented at Justice of the
Peace Court # 2 via video phone and committed to the James T. Vaughn Jr.
Correctional center in default of a $780,000.00 secured bond.
