Pair arrested for Dorchester home invasion, third suspect sought

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police have arrested two suspects who reportedly broke into a Dorchester home which prompted area schools to go into safe mode on Thursday morning.

Police officers responded to a home on Livingstone Street around 10 a.m. for reports of an armed home invasion.

While en route, a description of the suspect vehicle was broadcast as a silver Honda Civic occupied by at least two light-skinned Hispanic men.

While officers were speaking with the victims, an officer stopped a motor vehicle in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Geneva Avenue which matched the description of the motor vehicle wanted in connection with the armed home invasion.

Officers arrested 22-year-old Randy Soto, of Boston, and 21-year-old Victor Baez-Lara, of Roxbury, in connection with the home invasion, and recovered a firearm.

A third suspect entered the Stop & Shop, and police were unable to locate the suspect.

Soto will be charged with armed home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Baez-Lara was placed under arrest for armed home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition. He was also issued a citation for possession of marijuana.

While police were searching for the suspects, four Boston schools were placed in safe mode until about noon on Thursday.
