SOUTH HAVEN, Ind. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A Crown Point, Ind., woman told police her boyfriend of two months tied her up with a belt and nearly suffocated her with duct tape and a pillow.

"I might be crazy," suspect Logan Fischer later told police, asking to be put in handcuffs and saying he did not remember anything after receiving a text message from the 19-year-old victim about her running late.

Fischer, 19, said he hears the voice of a childhood imaginary friend, Eric, whom he said told him to tie up the woman. Fischer also showed police scars on his arms and body from him cutting himself for the past year and a half, according to the police report.

The woman told police Fischer was unusually quiet when she arrived at 8:45 p.m. Saturday at his family's home in the 700 block of Fremont Road. When she tried to get him to talk about what was bothering him, he allegedly put his hand over her mouth and said, "You did this."

She said she cried as Fischer tied her hands behind her back with a belt, lay down on top of her on the bed and squeezed his hands around her throat. She said she could not resist because of the difference in their sizes. The police report indicates Fischer outweighs the victim by more than 100 pounds.

She knew his mother was in the house so she yelled, but Fischer taped her mouth and put a pillow over her face, then continued choking her, according to the police report. She told police her breathing was restricted but she never lost consciousness.

After some time, Fischer reportedly told the woman he would untie her if she was quiet. When he did, she left, at about 9:50 p.m., and contacted a relative to meet her at the Portage Wal-Mart. As she sat in the relative's vehicle while speaking with police, Fischer arrived and parked next to the victim's unoccupied vehicle. When police impounded Fischer's pickup, officers found a large sword on the front seat; he could not explain why it was there, police said.

Police also questioned Fischer's mother, who said her son was "totally smitten" with the woman but otherwise described their relationship and his welfare very differently than he had. She explained the woman's injuries and Fischer's cuts as being caused by "S and M" style sex and told police the woman is a pathological liar. Police said the mother did not seem to have any knowledge of the suspect hearing voices or purposefully hurting himself.

Fischer was arrested for criminal confinement and strangulation, both felony charges, and misdemeanor battery.
