NEW YORK (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A man from Andover was savagely beaten by several men in Greenwich Village in New York City over the weekend.
Kevin McCarron, 24, was beaten with various weapons following an argument with a group of men outside of a pizza restaurant in Greenwich Village in New York City early Sunday morning.
According to the New York Police Department, McCarron suffered a fractured skull and was beaten unconscious.
Police told the New York Daily News that one of the attackers may have been sitting on top of a car belonging to McCarron's group.
Hatem Farsakh, 24; and Sherif Rizk, 22; both of Brooklyn, were arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with the assault. Rizk was also charged with assault and gang assault.
The paper reported that as many as seven men beat McCarron. Hatem Farsakh, 24, of Brooklyn, was arrested in connection with the beating. He was charged with attempted murder and assault.
A relative of McCarron's was also injured in the fight.
Police were searching for other suspects in connection with the attack.
A friend told Fox 25's Crystal Haynes that McCarron was visiting friends in New York over the weekend.
