In the month since the Newtown, Connecticut shooting many people have been talking about how to protect children in schools.
Some self-defense instructors in Cherry Hill have an idea on how to do it.
The instructors held a special course Thursday night for teachers to train them in Krav Maga, a self-defense style used by Israeli special defense forces.
The instructors say it is a good fit for teachers.
"There are no rules in street defense," one of the instructors said. "You're trying to defend yourself, a loved one, a child if you're a teacher. You can use yourself as a weapon, you can use improvised weapons or anything else you can find."
"With all the situations going on these days, you can never be too prepared," one teacher said. "It's a skill that I hope I never have to use, but should the situation arise, I'll feel a little bit more prepared."
Krav Maga experts stress that the idea is not to hurt anyone, but to stop a threat as quickly as possible.
