Wind could affect kicking game at Gillette

Posted: Updated:

From Fox 25 meteorologist Sarah Wroblewski:

A WIND ADVISORY is in effect for the state until 10 p.m. Sunday as westerly winds increase throughout the morning. The strongest winds will occur in the afternoon and evening with the passage of a cold front.

West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 may create isolated power outages and even disrupt the kicking game at Gillette!

Ahead of this front temps will be on the mild side, climbing into the 40s, but once that front moves in temps will begin to drop. So if you are heading to the game today this is what you can expect:

Temps will be in the mid-30s for the start of the game, but expect those winds to add a chill. As the game goes on temps will be dropping into the 20s, but it will feel more like the teens. Bundle up and have hand warmers! Go Pats!

Tonight… the real cold behind that front moves in. Overnight lows will drop into the teens as high pressure builds in. Martin Luther King, Jr. day will be cold with highs only reaching the 20s under mostly sunny skies.

Clouds will be increasing as the day progresses as we'll be watching a piece of energy dive out of the great Lakes and pass just south of New England, turning into a coastal storm. This system looks to be close enough to bring the chance of accumulating snow into the region Monday night into Tuesday. Stay tuned as we'll be tweaking the forecast as the low approaches.
