PHILADELPHIA -
A blown transformer knocks out power to more than 100 families in West Philadelphia, forcing them out into the cold Monday morning.
It happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday on the 4400 block of Holden Street.
Fire officials say 116 families have been evacuated to West Philadelphia High School as crews work to fix the problem.
"There's three buildings at this site. Two we were able to get up quickly, and it's taking a little bit longer for this last building," said Nicole Tillman, of the Philadelphia Housing Authority.
They hope to have that last building up and running in the next few hours.
