PHILADELPHIA -

Another bitter cold morning is ahead for Thursday after temperatures only hit a high of 22 in the Philadelphia area.

FOX 29 Chief Meteorologist Scott Williams says the temperatures tumbled throughout the day.

Outside of Philadelphia, temperatures were even lower. In Mount Pocono, for example, temperatures felt like they were 18 degrees below Wednesday morning.

Although it's fairly quiet around our area Wednesday night, a disturbance is moving through the Ohio River Valley that will dive to our south and provide a little snow for extreme southern portions of Delaware.

For Thursday, temperatures will be in the 20s, but it will feel like they are in the single digits.

As for Friday, the winter storm making its way to our area is too weak to be considered a blockbuster storm, but does have enough moisture to provide light accumulations around the heart of the Delaware Valley.

Scott Williams says the snow will begin during the Friday rush and will taper off by midnight.

Timeline of Friday's storm:

Friday rush:

Light snow flurries will arrive in our area.

Friday evening:

Light accumulations begin, between 1-3 inches for our area.

Friday midnight:

The snow is expected to taper off.
