Three children were hurt -- one critically -- when a home caught fire in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood Wednesday night.
The fire started about 7:25 p.m. in a two-story home in the 1000 block of West 76th Street, Fire Media Affairs spokeswoman Meg Alheim said.
Paramedics took three children to University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, one in critical condition and two in good condition, authorities said.
Authorities could not immediately say how old the children were, or how the fire began.
The cause remains under investigation Wednesday evening, Alheim said.
