Multiple delays reported for MBTA Thursday

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Delays from 10 minutes to "major" were reported by the MBTA Alerts Twitter account Thursday morning.

Just after 7 a.m. the MBTA's Twitter account reported major delays to and from Newburyport due to a mechanical failure.

Most of the other reported delays ran between 10 and 30 minutes.

Route 202 buses were experiencing 25 to 30 minute delays because of a disabled bus.

Cars were getting in the way of Silver Line service downtown. The MBTA reported delays of 15 to 20 minutes on the Dudley Station/Downtown Crossing line.

The Red Line reported 10-15 minute delays between Alewife and Park Street due to a disabled train at Harvard Station.

On Wednesday all lines of Green Line service were disabled for a few hours after a wire began smoking at Arlington Station. Thousands of commuters on the B, C, and D lines were forced into the cold and onto buses.
