SALEM, NH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A 22-year-old New Hampshire man was arrested on Wednesday after police claim he received a package containing five pounds of marijuana in the mail.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service notified Salem detectives on Wednesday morning about a suspicious package sent from California with a fake return address and sender. A K-9 team checked the package and received a drug detection hit on it.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the delivery address located on Lowell Road. After the package was delivered, detectives executed the warrant. The woman who signed for the package told police she signed off on it for her grandson.
In addition to the five pounds of marijuana found inside the package, police say they found another pound of marijuana, a ledger, cash, and drug paraphernalia inside the home.
Christopher Walker was arrested down the street and later released on $2,500 bail. Walker is facing felony possession with intent to distribute charges.
