Man arrested after NYPD recover assault weapons in Bronx apartment

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police arrested a Bronx man after they discovered assault weapons in his apartment Saturday night. 

Authorities say they received a tip of assault weapons inside an apartment at 545 Saint Pauls Place in the Morrisania section. Officers arrived around 5:30 p.m. and spoke with 49-year-old Enrique Santiago, the owner of the apartment.   

Officers discovered a .45 caliber Colt semi-automatic handgun, Colt AK-47 with a bayonet attached, SKS with a bayonet attached, Colt AR-15 as well as a box containing over 500 rounds of ammunition inside Santiago's bedroom closet. 

Police arrested Santiago at the scene. He was charged with 4 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2 - Loaded firearms, 1 count of CPW 3 - three or more firearms, 3 counts of CPW 3 - Assault rifle and 1 count of CPW 4.
