Arrest made in Somerville armed robbery

Posted: Updated:

SOMERVILLE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) — The suspect who was wanted in connection with the armed robbery of the QuickStop convenience store at 219 Highland Ave. has been arrested.

Chief Thomas Pasquarello said Jonathan Williams, 31, of Revere, was taken into custody Wednesday in Woburn. Detectives identified Williams as the suspect in the robbery that occurred last Sunday night. Williams was arrested without incident.

Surveillance video showed Williams walking into the convenience store, talking with the owner and revealing a gun while demanding cash. Somerville, Medford, Woburn and State Police along with the FBI Crimes Task Force joined forces to locate and arrest Williams.

Williams will be arraigned in Somerville District Court later Wednesday.

Originally the gunman made off with $1,000. Police suspected that Williams may have committed three other armed robberies in Medford last week, but there has been no word about those robberies.
