SONORAVILLE, Ga. -
A powerful tornado damaged more than 200 homes in Gordon County on Wednesday. in the north Georgia town of Sonoraville, almost every home was leveled.
Less than 24 hours after the storm crossed through, homeowners and businesses began the process of cleaning up after the devastating storm.
The owners of Affordable Towing surveyed the damage. The office of the building was ripped apart, and landed on top of a tow truck. One owner was out of town on Wednesday, and was shocked when she saw the damage.
"I am a little bit. I'm not really sure what to think about it, but it's mind-blowing," said owner Samantha Acree.
Her husband, Ryan Acree, was in the building when the storm hit. He says he was sending a text message to his wife -- a joke text about a tornado -- when he realized there was one heading towards the business.
Randy Acree says he took a short video of the storm. He says when he stopped recording and looked up, "the entire sky was nothing but one big mud-colored spinning mass of shingles, mostly. And I took off."
The Acrees say they have had the business for seven years and they plan to rebuild.
Power crews were in the town to restore power as insurance adjusters began to tally the amount of damage done.
The sheriff's office is enforcing a dusk to dawn curfew in the areas of Gordon County affected by the storm.
