Sarah Majoras, 39, went missing Saturday morning. Her body was found Wednesday evening in a canal in Lambertville.
HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. -
Investigators in Hunterdon County on Thursday confirmed they had positively identified a body found in Lambertville to be that of 39-year-old Sarah Majoras.
Majoras went missing early Saturday morning after she left John and Peter's, a bar on Main Street in New Hope.
A medical examiner made the identification Thursday, a day after a body was removed from a Lambertville canal.
"Preliminary results from the medical examiner do not indicate anything suspicious," Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns said. "At this time, all indications are that Sarah's death was a tragic accident. Our case remains active so that we can provide Sarah's family and friends with factual information and answers to help them cope with their loss."
Since she was reported missing, searchers with more than a dozen agencies scoured the area around New Hope and Lambertville looking for Majoras.
If you have any information regarding the investigation, you're asked to call the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's office at 908-284-6162.
