MANCHESTER, N.H. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) — New Hampshire police are looking for a person who tried to rob a bank in Manchester one minute too early Friday morning.
Police said they received a call at 8:59 a.m. about an attempted bank robbery at the Citizens Bank branch on Brown Avenue. Bank employees told police a male entered the bank vestibule and tried to go into the main lobby of the bank.
But the doors to the main lobby were locked since the bank does not open until 9 a.m. According to police, the suspect then began knocking on the glass with what was described as a black handgun. The employees and security guard refused to let him in so he fled the scene on foot.
The suspect is described as a white male about 5'09" and weighing between 190 and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, yellow gloves and a red ski mask.
Police said he was also carrying a dark backpack with a white stripe on it. He was armed with an unknown type black handgun and was last seen on foot running towards the back of the bank.
