BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The Suffolk County District Attorney's office said a man was found with a loaded, stolen gun after an officer saw another man drinking in public.
Officials said that at about 10 p.m. on Friday a Boston police officer saw a group of men standing at the corner of Dudley and Winslow Streets in Roxbury. When the officer approached the group, he saw one man drink from a bottle in a brown bag while another man walked away from the group.
The DA's office said the officer recognized the man who walked away as Dajuan Robinson. The officer identified him from a previous incident where a gun had been recovered. The officer said Robinson was walking and acting in an exaggerated manner, leading the officer to believe he was carrying a gun.
The officer called for backup. When officers searched Robinson's jacket they found a loaded Ruger .380 with six hollowpoint rounds in a magazine and another in the gun's chamber.
Robinson did not have a license to carry the gun, which had been reported stolen in Smyrna, Ga. in 2011.
He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm and receiving stolen property.
The man who is accused of drinking in public was identified as Stanley Young. He will appear in court at a later date.
