(MyFoxBoston.com) – The top federal prosecutor in Massachusetts may be under fire from Congress.

According to the Boston Herald, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform plans to question U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz.

The committee recently sent a letter to Ortiz, asking about her decision to prosecute Aaron Swartz.

The 26-year-old committed suicide last month. He was accused of downloading research from an MIT database and posting the information on the Web. He faced decades in prison even though owners of the research reportedly wanted the case dropped.

Ortiz said her office never planned to seek the maximum sentence.
