Horst FrankPAWTUCKET, R.I—There are only hours left for the shoe, wheelbarrow or iron game piece in the classic Monopoly game, as fans vote on which token to eliminate.
The voting on Facebook will close just before midnight Tuesday, and the Pawtucket, R.I.-based toy maker Hasbro Inc., will announce the new addition Wednesday morning.
This is not the first change in the eight tokens that identify players in the iconic game. Tokens have changed quite a lot since Parker Brothers bought the game from its original designer in 1935. However, the latest change marks the first time that fans have a vote on which piece will stay, and which one will go.
