Police: Dearborn mother fatally struck while crossing Outer Drive

DEARBORN, Mich. (WJBK) -

Police say a 42-year-old woman was fatally struck while walking to her vehicle along Outer Drive Wednesday morning.

In a release, Dearborn police say the woman attempted to cross Outer Drive near Willow St. when she was struck by a white Buick Rendezvous driven by a 35-year-old Dearborn man.

The woman, whose identity was not released, died on the scene. Her 12-year-old daughter was in the car as well. She was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say the accident appears to be accidental and neither drugs nor alcohol were involved.

The investigation is ongoing.
