A Camden County teacher and former borough councilman has been indicted on 92 counts related to child abuse.
Charles Reilly, 42, of Pine Hill is accused of sexual assault of a 12-year-old boy and having "sexual communication" with more than a dozen other current and former students between the ages of 12 and 16.
The art teacher and soccer coach was arrested and granted bail when some of the allegations were revealed in March of 2011. He was also placed on paid leave from the Pine Hill Middle School and resigned his position with the Pine Hill borough council.
The details of the alleged crimes were not made public until a Camden County grand jury indictment was unsealed on Wednesday.
"It's scary to find out someone has criminal problems in the school like this" said parent Brents Whealton, who has a 13-year-old son attending Pine Hill Middle School.
The indictment culminated after interviews with 17 male students. The charges include one count of sexual assault, 18 counts of endangering the welfare of a child and 42 counts of fourth degree endangerment after child pornography was found on Reilly's home computer. Investigators do not think any of the images were children that Reilly knew.
One parent interviewed by FOX 29 who didn't want to be identified said she had three children who were students of Reilly's and never had a problem.
"They loved Mr. Reilly. they were completely surprised with the allegations" she said.
The woman tells us she's happy two years of rumors and controversy surrounding the teacher can begin to fade away.
"Hopefully we can put this to rest now that it's done with. It's a very scary thing having your kids in the school system" she added.
Repeated attempts to contact the school principal district were unsuccessful.

An armed deli robbery is caught on camera. Two brazen gunmen held up the store owner with the man's kids right nearby. It's scary enough having armed gunmen storm your business.
