Newark church holds memorial tribute to Whitney Houston

NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

Monday will mark one year since the death of singer Whitney Houston.

New Hope Baptist Church in Newark held a special tribute service in her honor on Sunday. The church was the singer's childhood church.

Houston was born in Newark and was raised in nearby East Orange. Those in attendance gathered to celebrate her life and their remembrances.
