FALL RIVER (MyFoxBoston.com) -
A Fall River teenager and a state police officer were injured during a funeral procession Wednesday.
State police responded to the three-vehicle crash on Route 24 in Fall River after a motorist rear-ended the car in front of him. The crash created a domino effect with two other cars, including a motorcycle officer who was working on a motorcade escort as a part of the funeral procession for a fallen firefighter.
Preliminary investigation indicates the traffic was stopped before the crash occurred.
The 56-year-old officer was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 17-year-old male driver was brought to Charlton Memorial Hospital with possible injuries, and the third driver was not injured.
