PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A former employee for the school department in Portsmouth, N.H. is accused of soliciting sex from an underage girl on the Internet.
Kenneth P. Kimber, 34, of Portsmouth, was arrested on three counts of certain uses of a computer prohibited and five counts of indecent exposure on Friday.
Investigators accuse Kimber of soliciting a girl under the age of 16 on the Internet. The alleged interactions occurred between Feb. 4 and Feb. 11, during which time Kimber was employed in the information technology department of the Portsmouth School Department.
The school department released a statement on Friday regarding Kimber's arrest. They say the department worked with police for several days to investigate a tip about Kimber's alleged Internet use. Kimber was discharged by the department on Feb. 13 for breaking policy.
"The discharge was based on a number of violations of school policy, including the policy concerning Internet use. The school department took immediate interim steps to ensure that all students were protected," says the department.
Kimber was held on $5,000 cash and $15,000 personal recognizance bail. He is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday.
