A Zion fugitive is wanted for a home invasion and armed robbery in Grayslake.
Authorities are looking for Devaughn Thompson, 19, after he and some other suspects allegedly robbed a homeowner just before 11 p.m. on Sept. 28.
According to police dispatch, they received a call from a resident in the 1000 block of Manchester Circle saying that three suspects entered their home, two armed with handguns and one had a baseball bat. They robbed the victims and then fled.
Responding officers observed a light-colored 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada leaving the area at a high rate of speed with the suspects inside.
The vehicle fled south on Atkinson Road and attempted to turn east onto Brae Loch Road, but the driver lost control and the vehicle struck a utility pole. The suspects got out and ran and a perimeter was set up. Police dogs were brought to the scene along with extra officers and a helicopter that searched for the suspects for five hours.
Three suspects were located and taken into custody, and a fourth was identified, but had fled the area. The guns were not found.
Thompson failed to show for his court date. Lake County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to his arrest.
If you have any information on this fugitive or any other felony crime or felony fugitive call Crime Stoppers at (847) 662-2222. Crime Stoppers wants your information, not your name. If your information leads to an arrest you could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
