Decomposed body of a woman found in Queens

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police found a badly decomposing woman's body in Queens Saturday morning, police said.

Authorities say the victim was found around 8:40 a.m. by a passerby as it washed up near Bayside Avenue in Breezy Point.

The woman was clothed but only part of her skull was there with her body. Police say there were no signs of trauma.

It is not clear how old the unidentified victim was when she died, according to police.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
