Bonnaroo music festival lineup announced

Posted: Updated:

(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Mumford and Sons took the Album of the Year award at this year's Grammy Awards. They are just one of many artists performing in the 2013 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. Paul McCartney and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are also headlining.

Mumford and Sons return to Tennessee after a welcomed 2011 second stage performance. Fans could be seen hanging on fences to get a better view of the show which lasted over an hour.

This year's festival is a bit more diverse than previous years because it features a wide array of artists from different genres of music including The Lumineers, R Kelly, ZZ Top, Passion Pit, Kendrick Lamar, and that's just the start.

Weird Al Yankovic hosted the Bonnaroo Lineup Announcement Megathon (aka BLAM) at noon Tuesday. The event, held online at Bonnaroo's YouTube channel, featured classic Bonnaroo moments, the lineup announcement by Daniel Tosh, and then a Surprise Classic Bonnaroo concert featuring Mumford and Sons from 2011.

The festival hosts 150 acts on 10 different stages. So far, 106 performers have been announced, but there are more to come. Some other well-known artists making the trip to Manchester, Tenn. include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Matt & Kim and Of Monsters and Men.

The four day festival is from June 13 to16 and takes place on a 700-acre farm. More than 80,000 fans make the trek to Tennessee each year for the festival. Tickets go on sale at 12 p.m. EST Saturday Feb. 23.
