DeKalb County names new police chief - Boston News, Weather, Sports | FOX 25 | MyFoxBoston

DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis introduced the county's new police chief on Wednesday.

Cedric Alexander is currently the security director for the TSA at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

Alexander, who starts in April, began his career as a police officer in Miami in 1977. He's also a clinical psychologist who says he's ready to make the department stronger.

There are also plans to realign precincts in the county and hire more police officers.
