Pedestrian killed by NYPD vehicle in Queens

NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a police vehicle headed to a 911 call fatally struck a pedestrian in Queens.

The NYPD says the accident occurred around 12:45 a.m. Thursday.

The man was crossing 40th Avenue mid-block, between 10th and 11th streets. The patrol car was going east on 40th Avenue.

The victim was not immediately identified.
