
SALEM, Mass. (AP) - Three people have pleaded not guilty in connection with a hit-and-run more than six years ago that fatally injured two people on U.S. Route 1 in Saugus.
Thirty-three-year-old Michael Tranchita Jr. is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, conspiracy and misleading investigators. His father, 55-year-old Michael Tranchita Sr., and 39-year-old Lisa Cutting of Revere, also are charged with conspiracy and misleading investigators. Cutting is charged with being an accessory after the fact. The Tranchitas are from Winchester.
All three were released on personal recognizance after their arraignment Monday in Salem Superior Court.

Tello's son, Michael Cowels, said outside court Monday he's glad justice was "finally being done."
