South Side man found not guilty of stabbing his sister to death

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
A Washington Heights neighborhood man accused of stabbing his sister to death inside their Far South Side home was found not guilty Monday.
Terrell Coggs, 52, had been charged with two counts of first-degree murder for stabbing his sister, 47-year-old Adrienne Coggs, during an argument inside their home in the 900 block of East 100th Street in October 2009, officials said.
On Monday, Judge Maura Slattery-Boyle found Coggs not guilty in a bench trial, said Cook County State's Attorney's office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton.
Coggs had been held in the Cook County Jail on $800,000 bond since the attack, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.
