BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Officials have confirmed the tipster that claimed a gunman was on MIT's campus last Saturday said the man was seeking revenge for the death of Aaron Swartz.
MIT officials also told the Boston Herald whoever made the call claimed the alleged gunman was a staff member.
The staff member named in that hoax call was investigated, but school officials stress the staffer was not connected to the incident.
The president of MIT was reportedly considered the shooter's main target.
