Hull works to resolve problem at sewer treatment plant

Posted: Updated:

HULL, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Public officials in Hull were forced to close schools Thursday after they discovered a problem at the sewer treatment plant.

Hull's town manager Phillip Lemnios told The Brockton Enterprise that between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Thursday an inordinate amount of water entered the plant, causing an overflow. The plant is located at 1111 Nantasket Ave.

The issue has not contaminated the town's fresh water supply and residents can continue to consume and use the water; however, officials are asking residents to minimize their usage as they work to fix the problem.

According to the newspaper, the town is in the process of trying to determine the cause of the mechanical failure.
