Following his speech Friday, Gov. Rick Snyder fielded questions from his hand-picked audience inside Detroit Public TV's studio on the campus of Wayne St. University.

Earlier in the day, Snyder declared a financial emergency in Detroit, pushing the city closer to having a state-appointed emergency manager control its finances.
Questions include: Have you selected a manager? Is this a loss of democratic voice in Detroit? Can these issues be solved in 18 months? How will the city raise revenue? What's the role for elected officials? Why only a Detroit EM, and not a regional emergency manager?
